What is Parent Coaching?
Parent Coaching blends coaching with mentoring, offering not only guidance through your parenting challenges but also practical, research-based strategies. Together, we will explore the complexities of parenting, uncovering unconscious patterns shaped by your upbringing, and aligning your approach with your core values. Through education in areas such as attachment theory, nervous system regulation, and child development, you will gain the tools to parent authentically and in a way that nurtures both you and your children.
The Process
We gently reflect on your childhood, exploring personal memories and experiences to deepen your self-awareness and understand how they influence your reactions in the moment. We notice patterns and how and when triggers come up for you.
We talk about how you feel when your child cries, has a tantrum, doesn’t listen, shows anger and the many other things that children do.
We focus on the importance of holding space for both yourself and your child, practicing empathy, and using active listening.
We explore the role of radical self-care and work on ways to meet your needs amidst the messiness of modern parenting.
We also delve into the healing power of play, setting boundaries, clarifying family values, understanding anger, and so much more.
THe path toward Conscious Parenting
Before having children, many of us see ourselves as calm and rational people. Then the baby arrives, and everything shifts—sleep deprivation pushes us to our limits, toddler meltdowns leave us feeling shaken, sibling fights enrage us, the noise and clutter of children overwhelm us. This can often leave us feeling untethered, questioning whether we’ve got what it takes to be a parent, whether we were ‘ready’ or will ever be the kind of parent we so desire.
It’s normal to feel shocked, ashamed, or even guilty about moments of anger, detachment, or impatience. That’s where I come in. I work alongside you to help you grow into a more aware, healing, and present parent who can:
